I am pretty busy in the outdoors most of the year. Back country running, hiking and long approaches for very cool beach breaks (mostly sandy and rocky soil with flip flops) top my lists of things to do. We here at Rescue Response Gear recently starting car
rying a product by O’Keefe’s called O’Keefe’s Life Out There. An amazing product that re-hydrates and heals not only cracked and broken skin, but more importantly for me, protects my skin from gnarly blisters that have plagued me for my entire life. It hasn’t cured me, but it makes life so much better in the outdoors. By keeping the skin hydrated and at the same time, keeping a barrier around or on the surface of the skin, friction is a fraction of the problem it used to be and the healing aspect is simultaneous. I am a believer in the product.

Working concrete is the worst on your hands. The chemicals eat up your skin and dry them out. They then crack and bleed. I wonder if this product will sting your cuts?

I can’t answer whether it will sting your cuts (I know what concrete does to your hands), but it probably can’t hurt to give this a try. Even if it stings for a bit. I think it would be worth the pain to get faster healing. I’m going to try it out.

Well if the product works it should help with repairing my hands after a rock climbing session. They become so dry and rough after a bit of bouldering.
Trackback: treat dry skin

My wife and I go out a lot and unpreditable things sometimes happen, so I always have O’keefe’s life out there with us.
