| Editors Comments Knots, hitches, bends or (herein, knots) ect whatever our terminology, techniques or applications these beauties are the backbone of rescue and rigging. The better we know them, the better off we are. Tying into a rope, rigging an anchor or belay, joining two ropes or sling together or hundreds of other purposes, "knots" are purposeful and essential. In the follow short segments, we will visit how knots (when practiced) can save time, energy, money and even lives. Keep in mind, that whole books have been written on this subject and in no way will this even come close to addressing what is available, however, its still fun; so lets tie-in and take a look.
