All our alloy carabiners are designed and manufactured from start to finish at our Llanberis factory in North Wales. This way we have complete quality control over the production process and at each stage of the carabiners production there are set checks to insure strength and quality.
All the gates and barrels on our biners are machined from 7075 aluminium to a quality and strength far higher than current standards demand. This is because weak gates/barrels have been the cause of several serious accidents.
All DMM screwgates are designed so that they will release under load. This means that the barrel does not close tight against the nose of the carabiner; otherwise if the barrel is accidently tightened when the biner is loaded it becomes very hard to release the barrel.
