LAFD1.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex in Tripod Configuration

Arizona Vortex
ARIZONA VORTEX being used in a standard TRIPOD configuration for a highline high directional.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department USAR103 task force work with the ARIZONA VORTEX at Lunada Canyon Mike Layhee (second from right) ran the exercise which included a 200' Kootenay Highline English Reeve 100' down into the canyon.

DFDaztek1.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex in A Frame Configuration

Arizona Vortex
ARIZONA VORTEX being used as a BIPOD "A" frame high directional, here, for a steep angle litter evacuation.
(2002 St Louis County Sheriff's Rescue Team/Duluth Fire TSRS)

nonproduct/v2mpd_sa_thumb.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex 2.0 Multipod in Sideways A-Frame Configuration

Vortex 2.0 Multipod
Here, rescuers from the Victoria CFA (Country Fire Authority) work with the AZV v.2.0 during bipod practice and prototype testing. The ARIZONA VORTEX v.2.0 is being used as a twin-guyed Sideways A Frame. Notice how the blue gin pole attachment has been removed for this bipod application during prototype testing.

DFDcargo1.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex in S-A Frame Configuration

Arizona Vortex
ARIZONA VORTEX being used as a BIPOD "SA" frame (sideways "A" frame) high directional, here, for a high angle litter evacuation out of a confined space entry where extra height was needed to accommodate the litter system
(2002 St Louis County Sheriff's Rescue Team/Duluth Fire TSRS)

nonproduct/v2mpd_easel_thumb.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex 2.0 Multipod in Easel A Configurations

Vortex 2.0 Multipod
Two images demonstrating use of the Arizona Vortex 2.0 Multipod in Easel-A configuration at Mount Arapiles in Victoria, Australia. These pictures also show use of the Omni-Block pulley in a direct-pin application, unique to this tripod and very convenient in many circumstances.

pic42.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex in Easel A Frame Configuration

Arizona Vortex
The ARIZONA VORTEX being used in a wilderness Advanced Skills Rescue Seminar in Oak Creek Canyon. Again, as with the photo at left, the AZV works perfectly with highline situations. Notice that the easel leg is very short and is extended into the rock wall.

nonproduct/v2mpd_ginpole_thumb.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex 2.0 Multipod in Gin Pole Configurations

Vortex 2.0 Multipod
Two pictures demonstrating use of the Vortex 2.0 Multipod's third leg as an independant Gin Pole. This capability can be used in conjunction with A and Sideways-A (SA) frame configurations to simultaneously create two unique AHD's with the purchase of only one product.

DeanHall1.jpg Instructions | AHD - Arizona Vortex Prototype

Arizona Vortex
The second prototype ARIZONA VORTEX, here being used by Dean Hall of Howard County Fire and Rescue in Maryland.
Photo taken in 1997 above historical Harpers Ferry, West

pic37.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex Mitigating Edge Trauma

Arizona Vortex
ARIZONA VORTEX being used to mitigate edge trauma for both the patient and the litter attendant. This difficult stair-step edge would otherwise be much more dangerous and physically demanding.

NPSazv2.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex as an Easel A with Tie-Downs

Arizona Vortex
Notice the tie-downs on the back easel leg taking into account possible tension and compression.

pic46.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex with Tracking and Deflection Lines

Arizona Vortex
The ARIZONA VORTEX used with both a standard high angle litter package along with a tracking and deflection line offset during a ROPES THAT RESCUE seminar in Oak Creek Canyon, AZ. Leg configuration: "A" frame-two sections each. Easel leg-three sections.

pic43.jpg Instructions | AHD - Vortex and Jayne Thorne

Arizona Vortex
Jayne Thorne adjusting rigging during 1989 Team Skills Rescue Seminar in Sedona. Here a tracking line offset is being used with a standard high angle litter lower to the forest floor 200' below.
