The Petzl ASAP is a mobile fall arrester for rope. Used to arrest a single person load. It locks onto the rope even if the device is grabbed reflexively by the user during a fall. Locks on vertical or anlges rope. Moves up and down the rope without manual intervention. Easy to put on and remove at any point on the rope. Does not slide down the rope under its own weight: remains above the user during descent to limit fall potential distance.
For use on semi-static rope (EN 1891 type A) from 10.5 to 13 mm diameter.
The new 2009 Petzl I'D is a self-braking descender with an anti-panic function for working on fixed ropes. The new version has a new handle which allows easier movement over horizontal or low angle terrain.
Designed for rescue: lacks a gate
Multi-functional handle allows the user to:
unblock the rope and control the descent with the
hand on the braking side of the rope
move more easily on horizontal or low-angle terrain
thanks to the button on the handle
to position himself while on the rope
Anti-panic function is engaged if the user pulls too
hard on the handle: the pivoting cam is released and
automatically brakes to stop the descent
Anti-error safety cam to reduce the risk of an
accident due to incorrect installation of the device
on the rope. The shape of the cam is designed to
improve rope glide during an ascent.
Pivoting cam makes it easier to take up the slack in
the rope Can also be used to make a reversible haul
system, and for short ascents (in conjunction with a
FOOTPRO footloop and an ASCENSION handled rope
clamp).
For ropes between 11.5 and 13 mm in diameter
Individually tested
Weight: 530 g
Certification: CE EN 341 Class A, NFPA 1983 G
Max weight limit for the RIG is only 150 kg (330 lbs.) which is significantly less than the 250 kg (551 lbs.) Max of the I'D S and the 272 kg (599 lbs.) Max of the I'D L.
The self-braking RIG descender is
designed for difficult-access work and
rescue professionals. It allows the user to
access the work station and then easily
position himself by using the handle to
lock the device in place on the rope. Easy
to grasp, this descender is intuitive and
comfortable to use. With its innovative
and compact design, the RIG offers a
simple, efficient alternative to traditional
descenders.
Features:
Designed for work on a rope.
The safety gate on the moving side plate helps
prevent dropping the device and facilitates installation
of the rope and passing intermediate anchors.
Multi-functional handle allows the user to:
- unblock the rope and control the descent with the
hand on the free end of the rope.
- position himself while on the rope without tying off
the device.
The spring loaded handle returns to the belay
position in order to reduce the possibility of
involuntary release.
Handle storage position for when the descender is
being carried on the harness.
Pivoting cam facilitates taking up the slack in the
rope. Can also be used to make a reversible haul
system, and for short ascents (in conjunction with a
FOOTPRO foot loop and an ASCENSION handled rope
clamp).
A screw (integrated into the back of the device)
allows the moving side-plate to be locked so that the
RIG can be part of a rescue kit.

The AM’D Tri-act system reduces the risk of accidental unlocking as 3 successive actions are required to open the carabiner (push the sleeve upward - turn - open the gate). Initially designed for industrial applications, this locking system, which is easily manipulated with one hand, is also highly appreciated by rescue teams and by climbers.
The GO is perfect for small rigging needs where carabiners will not work. This oval quick link is 7mm bar diameter and has a strength of 24kN. Actual dimension is 1" x 3".
