SMC 2 Inch NFPA Single Prusik Minding Pulley PMP (Black/Green)
$61.20
SM152700N
One of the newest pulleys by SMC, the 2 inch PMP is sized to fit between our Micro PMP and 3 inch PMPs and represents a mid-sized option for those needing the unique features of a PMP. We believe this pulley to be one of the lightest UL Certified pulleys meeting NFPA G, General Use. In fact, the 3 Sigma test numbers for this pulley are some of the highest available based upon the strength to weight ratio.

Prusik Minding Pulleys are especially versatile and may be used in many ways, from progress capture and hauling systems to crevasse rescue, high-lines and Tyrolean traverses. The wide base design maximizes the effectiveness of a Prusik hitch while a unique side plate formation allows the use of larger ropes in a compact pulley. An oversized bell-shaped top hole accepts 2 large rescue carabiners or multiple small carabiners and allows the carabiners to be rotated freely and completely. Sealed ball bearings provide optimal efficiency and reduce the performance-robbing resistance that is inherent in most multiple component systems. In addition, sealed ball bearings are not prone to failure under misaligned loads or with twisted gear as can be the case with needle bearings. Solid side plates help prevent foreign object access and reduce snagging and are precisely tensioned for easy one-handed operation and secure placement at any point along the rope.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Type: Single
  • Axle: Ball Bearing
  • Material: High Quality Aluminum
  • Dimensions: 2.89 inch x 3.97 inch x 1.37 inch
  • Weight: 6.3 oz (179g)
  • Max. Rope: 1/2 inch (13mm)
  • Sheave: 2 inch aluminum
  • 3 Sigma MBS:44kN 9,892 lbf
FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
  • Believed to be the lightest pulley of its type that is UL certified to NFPA 1983 (2006 ed.) G, General Use.
  • Delivers a very high strength-to-weight ratio in 3 Sigma tests.
  • Uses high efficiency sealed ball bearings and is designed to function flawlessly under conditions that would shut down lesser grade pulleys.
  • Sealed ball bearings provide optimal efficiency, thus reducing the performance-robbing resistance that is inherent in most multiple component systems and they are not prone to failure under misaligned loads or with twisted gear as may occur with needle bearings.
  • Side plates are precisely tensioned for easy one-handed operation and secure placement at any point along the rope.
  • Solid side plates help to keep dirt and debris out of the rope track.
  • Side plates help to eliminate compression under load and the resulting friction on rope or sheave.
  • Oversized top hole is designed for use with up to 2 rescue carabiners and is large enough to allow sleeve of locked carabiner to pass through.
  • Low profile fasteners help to reduce snagging and hanging up when pulley is being moved.
  • Wide base design works most efficiently with Prusik cords of up to 8mm.
  • The double version features a Becket that facilitates rigging complicated pulley systems. The Becket hole will accept large rescue carabiners and is large enough to allow sleeve of locked carabiner to pass through.
NFPA G, General Use

Certified by Underwriter Laboratories to exceed the NFPA 1983 (2006 edition) G - General Use requirement of 36kN.

All SMC NFPA products are stamped with the required certification information and the user information is enclosed with each item as required by NFPA.

This item is a Rescue Response Gear Red iBex approved product to fill your various needs for use in rope rescue and industrial rope access fall protection when using equipment such as webbing, rope, anchors, harnesses, helmets, gloves, belay & rappel devices, ascenders, pulleys, carabiners and other approved hardware in professional swiftwater, firefighter, canyoneering, work at height, positioning, suspension and fall arrest when climbing and descending, mast and tower climb, telecoms, wind turbines and stage rigging .
