WRSI Rescue Current Helmet Vented Red and Yellow 85604800xxx jpg
WRSI Rescue Pro, Current Helmet w/reflective striping
$79.95
85604800xxx
The Rescue Current is the only helmet in the world designed specifically for surface water rescues and the turbulent water environment. The helmet features a multi-layer system that absorbs around 4 times the impact of other leading water rescue helmets (See diagram 1 & 2). Available with vents on top or with no vents on top. Vented helmet recommended for warmer water conditions. Non-vented helmet recommended for cold water and ice conditions. The helmet features an interconnected retention system that does not allow the helmet to move around on the head under hydraulic forces. The helmet features a brim for sun protection and for creation of an air pocket in some near-surface entrapments.

Features:
  • Multiple Layer Impact Absorption System
  • Interconnect Retention Strap System
  • Brim for Sun and Air Pocket
  • Reflective Striping for Visibility in Low Light
  • Ventilation options: Vented or No vents
  • Colors options available: Red or Yellow
Size:
  • Small/Med fits head circumference 19"-21.5"
  • Med/Large fits head circumference 20.3"-23.5"

Customer Testimonial | WRSI Helmet

I just wanted to thank you for designing the WRSI helmet. A little over a year ago, I had an accident where I hit my head on a rock while whitewater kayaking. I nearly broke my neck and suffered a bad concussion. I had muddled thoughts, mismatched pupil size, the works. My doctor friend credited your helmet with likely saving my life. I was fortunate because I had just replaced my old helmet which ... offered minimal protection.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a quick line to express my gratitude. I ... think you can feel good knowing that the helmet is doing its job.

Regards,

Brian

Customer Testimonial | WRSI Helmet

Once I got to Gorilla, I got stuck in the notch before the big drop. After getting out of the hole, I found myself out of sync with the rhythm of the rapid. I ended up landing sideways and backwards coming off of the drop. After the drop the back of my head struck a rock knocking my head into my boat. I'm pretty sure that my WRSI helmet saved my life. The protection to the back of the head is unique to most whitewater helmets and if I would have had something else on I probably wouldn't have been protected at all. The impact was hard enough that the inside of the shell suffered a crack and I still got a knot on my head. When I landed below Gorilla, I landed sideways and backwards and after the impact of the drop I immediately flipped and hit the back of my head on a rock in the washout. When this happened I was tucked to the deck of the boat and broke the bridge of my nose on the cockpit of the kayak. In the end everyone was o.k. and we hiked out for safety's sake. I have run the Narrows on the Green over 30 times since then, but I have really had to conquer the fear.
