Sterling recently received General Use certification to NFPA 1983, 2012 for our AZTEK Elite. The AZTEK Elite system has been designated as a Mechanical Advantage Pulley System by UL and is certified to the Manufactured Systems section of NFPA. The AZTEK system has become one of the most versatile tools for rope rescue applications and now it’s fully certified to meet your department’s requirements. When using our SR Steel Carabiners, the system provides a complete General Use, NFPA-compliant, compact mechanical advantage system.
Versatile and dynamic the AZTEK is easily applicable as an edge restraint, back tie, load release hitch, litter rigging, and attendant attachments among multiple other uses in a wide array of scenarios with its ability to configure into either a 4:1 with a change of direction or a 5:1 mechanical advantage. The system is compiled of two AZTEK Omni pulleys, 50 feet of 8mm edge restraint cord, two 6mm sewn ratchets, a 6mm travel restraint, and three Sterling SafeD carabiners, which is all contained in a pouch style bag that clips around the users waist and can easily be transferred from person to person.
